Parts Needed To Install Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver 76170 On 2018 Honda Odyssey
Question:
Hi - great site and really helpful! I’m looking for some additional advice. I’m a military member and moving overseas shortly, so we want to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Class III on our 2018 Honda Odyssey before we go. I won’t have the time, tools or shop to do it myself, so I was wondering if you can recommend the parts I need besides the hitch and if you recommend a particular shop to do the work? thanks for your help!

Thank you for your service!
To install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76170 you were looking at on your 2018 Honda Odyssey I recommend the Nylon Tube Brush - 1/2" # 814092 to clean out the weld nuts to remove and debris that could cause a bolt to strip. Also if your Odyssey has the hands free lift gate you will need a new sensor bar which you can get from your local Honda dealer.
Now depending on what you plan on using the trailer hitch receiver for, you may still need additional parts.
If you are planning on towing with your Odyssey you will also need a vehicle wiring harness # 118781, and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which can all be found in the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
Regarding getting the hitch installed, any reputable automotive repair shop will be able to complete the installation without any issues.
I did go ahead and included videos for each of the products mentioned to give you an idea of what the installation process will require.
