How to Determine if Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack Will Clear Rear Bumper of Vehicle Folded Up
Question:
Im looking at buying the Curt hitch receiver #C13149 for my 2017 Toyota RAV4 and am wondering if the Yakima On Ramp #Y36FR will work with this hitch receiver and still fold up when not in use. It doesnt look like it extends out far enough. Thanks.

Expert Reply:
Yes the Yakima OnRamp # Y36FR will fit and clear the rear of your 2017 Toyota RAV4 when folded up with the # C13149 that you referenced. The hitch has 5 inches from the pin hole to the outer most edge of the rear bumper whereas the OnRamp has 8 inches of clearance between the pin hole and the nearest portion of the rack when folded up and 13 inches when folded down.
