Replacement Hub For Boat Trailer Using Bearings L68149 And L44649

Question:

Hi. I have a boat trailer with a hub that fits bearing L44649 with race L44610, and bearing L68149 with race L68110. I’m not sure of the grease seal this uses. The hub doesn’t have attached bolts, and I would like to replace with a hub that has attached bolts easier to change tires. Do you have something that would fit?

The closest we have is Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 5 on 4-1/2 - Galvanized # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K. This uses inner bearing L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) and outer bearing L44649 (1.063" inner diameter) that you currently have. It also has the outer race L44610 that you have. There is not a hub available that has the inner race L68110 that you have which measures 2.327". This kit includes inner race L68111 which measures 2.361".

You can stick with your current hub and just replace the bearings with # L44649 and # L68149 and replace the races with # L44610 and # L68110 when you need them replaced. Or if you want to replace the hub with a hub that has attached bolts like you mentioned then I recommend replacing your spindle with 84 Spindle # TRU84FR if it is 1-3/4" diameter, or 84 Spindle # TRU24FR if it is 2" diameter. These spindles are welded in place of your existing spindles. Then you will be able to use the # AKIHUB-545-35-G-EZ-K kit, which has attached bolts and includes all the necessary bearings and races. This kit has the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and is for wheels 13" to 15". I have attached a demonstration video for these products and have also linked a page that shows all of our trailer hubs in case this is not the kit that you decide to go with.
