Comparing Steel and Aluminum Ultra-Fab 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizers

Question:

I’m interested in the Ultra-Fab 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer - Aluminum - 34 to 52 - 1,200 lbs. I live next to the ocean so if I get the steel one it will rust immediately. The weight limit on this is 1200lbs. The pin weight of my fifth wheel is 2200lb plus the weight of my wife and I sleeping above this? Is there a solution to this? If it’s just for stabilizing and not weight bearing as the other jacks will handle most the weight what is the 1200lbs referencing? It’s a reflection 311bhs fifth wheel with a Andersen hitch so may need aluminum extenders as well

The Ultra-Fab 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer part # UF19-950200 would be best for harsher environments. The Ultra-Fab 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer part # UF19-950600 has a black coating which will also resists rust but if this coating wears off it can then expose bare metal.

In regards to weight capacity vs pin weight, you'll still be using the landing gear to support the pin weight so the capacity of the stabilizer does not need to meet the pin weight of the trailer.

The aluminum version is not as tall as the steel version but we do offer the Extension Legs part # UF19-950600.
