Comparing Lippert and Hayes Electric Sway Control Modules for Trailer
Question:
Hello, I have 2 questions about the electronic sway controls. What are the technical differences between the lippert Sway Command and the Tuson Sway Control TSC-1000. They look identical. Also If I felt that it was not activating soon enough would moving it further back to 15 on a 36 trailer give me greater sway control. It seems that the distance from the hitch should be relative to the length of the trailer. Thank you,

Functionally the Sway Command part # LC380605 and the Hayes # HA81775 are basically the same idea made a little differently by different manufacturers. They both are systems designed to detect sway using sensors and then apply the trailer brakes in a way that stops it before it becomes noticeable. Detecting the sway isn't difficult enough to require the exact sensor location you mentioned so having it moved further back wouldn't offer a significant advantage.
