Recommended Air Conditioning Unit Needed to Add AC to 2013 Haulmark Transport Trailer

Question:

Hello, I have a 2013 Haulmark 8.5 x 20 enclosed transport trailer. The inside height is 6-6.The trailer has never had an A/C installed so there isnt any wiring in place. Can you suggest a roof top a/c unit with heat? I like the Furrion units but Im not sure which unit is the correct one for my trailer. Thank you

I have a solution for you, but there are not Furrion units that come with an included heat strip. Instead I recommend using the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box, Start Capacitor, and Heat Strip - 15,000 Btu # ACM150CH which comes with a heat strip to take the chill off. This unit also has a start capacitor to allow for easier starting when your trailer may not have access to the required power to start up, since it stores power needed for each time it's required to start; it's a really great solution for smaller enclosed transport trailers that don't traditionally have a battery bank required to start and power AC units. This can be used to install a new unit in a trailer that didn't previously have an AC and comes with an air distribution box that has a thermostat built in.

If you need wiring and connectors to run and make your connections to the battery, you can get 12 gauge wiring with part # 12-1-1, which is sold by the foot; butt connectors are available with the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector - 12-10 Gauge - Nylon Insulation - Yellow - Qty 5 # DW05745-5.

I've linked a review video of this unit for you to check out, but it's definitely the best solution to add a unit to your trailer.
