Folded Height of RockyMounts RKY1222 TomaHawk Roof Mount Bike Carrier
Question:
I see the height is listed at 3”, but the pics show a piece that looks like it sticks up much taller than that. Does that fold down, or is that piece included in the 3” height? I have a 2014 Lexus LX570, and I want to make sure I can still get in the garage without having to remove the rack. I have about 4” to give. The bike, of course, would have to be removed.

The 3 inch height mentioned in the product description for the RockyMounts # RKY1222 TomaHawk roof mounted bike carrier is indeed the folded height. The arm you mentioned can be folded down flat when the bike isn't in place which will provide you better overhead clearance. Given the 4 inch measurement you provided, it looks like you'll just make it.
Believe it or not, it's fairly common for folks to forget they're carrying things on their roof and attempt to pull into a garage or some other situation where the overhead clearance is compromised. When I carried a cargo basket on my old van, I always used to put a post-it note on the steering wheel horn button to remind me I was carrying something on the roof.
You might also be interested in a door step like the Rightline # RL100660, which slides into the door striker and provides a convenient step-up when you're placing items on your vehicle roof.
I've linked to some product videos for the products mentioned above.
