The Thule Parkway you mentioned is a fit for a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4 inch by 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.

Since a BMW X3 would have a 2 inch by 2 inch Class III hitch, a bike rack like the Thule Hitching Post Pro, part # TH934XTR would be a better choice. The Hitching Post Pro is compatible with both Class II 1-1/4 inch or 2 inch receivers. The rack also offers better anti-sway cradles that will prevent the bikes from swaying back and forth during transport and banging into each other or the rear of the vehicle. I've linked you to a video featuring the Hitching Post Pro bike rack.

To carry womens bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # 64005 is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.
