Where are the Holes Drilled Through the Bed to Install 5th Wheel Rails on a 2001 Chevy Silverado

Question:

When drilling the pilot holes to for the bracket, which holes on the rail do you use. The Dodge video indicated the end holes, is this the same for the Chevy?

Each year, make, and model truck is going to have different installation kits so you cannot go by a video for a Dodge since you have a Chevy. There are several series, bed lengths, and trims of the 2001 Silverado available. If you can tell me specifically which you have I can tell you all the kits that fit and provide instruction links for them.

Because different trucks use different kits the holes drilled through the bed can be in different places. If you were using the universal kit # RP30035 then the instructions, linked for you, on page 5 indicate that the front rails has the holes at the ends and the back rail uses the set of holes second from the end.
