Troubleshooting Trailer Interior Lights Not Working When Towed by 2003 GMC Sierra 1500

Question:

Hello, I had a question regarding a trailer. My friend has an enclosed 3 place snowmobile trailer, and the trailer has interior dome lights. The lights work fine when the trailer is connected to his truck 2005 Chevy Silverado 3500. When we tow his trailer with my truck 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 the interior dome lights do not seem to have power and will not illuminate. Exterior trailer lights and trailer brakes work as they should on both trucks. Do you have any idea what the issue would be that’s causing this? Fuse, wires, etc? Thank you

Sounds like your truck just doesn't have enough amperage draw to power the interior lighting. Or it's even possibly your 12 volt accessory circuit on your truck isn't connected under the hood which is very common on GM trucks of that era.

If you check out the attached help article link to this page you can see all of the connections under the hood of your truck that need to be made.
