Since the Atwood RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Detector AT36681 you have is not blinking when you are hooked up to shore power, and only when running off the batteries I recommend checking the wiring connections to the battery which could have come loose.

If you find that all of the connections are correct then replacing the unit with a new one will be required to make sure it is properly monitoring your trailer from harmful Carbon Monoxide or Propane Gas. Since the AT36681 you have is discontinued I recommend going with the 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector - 12 Volt - White # RS34FR though keep in mind this only works off battery power.

I included a video of the # RS34FR for you to take a look at.
