Proper Inflation of the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs
Question:
I have a 32ft motor home that has firestone ride rite helper springs installed. Two valve stems are mounted on the frame and I fill each one seperately. I did not recieve a operator manuel so I have always kept 50lb. What should I inflate them to.

Expert Reply:
The air bags in the Firestone Ride-Rite systems can be inflated to a minimum of 5 psi and a maximum of 100 psi. This amount will vary depending on the weight of the load, type of load (in your case a trailer), condition of factory suspension and personal preference.
For the best ride use only enough air pressure in the air helper springs to level the vehicle when viewed from the side. Over-inflating the bags beyond what is necessary will cause a harsh ride.
I have attached a link to the installation instructions that explains the inflation pressure for you to check out.
