Connecting Blue Air Line Connecting Roadmaster Brake Master Supplemental Braking System to Motorhome

Question:

Ive finished upgrading my 2021 Ford ranger with the Brakemaster etc. My question is about the Bullet connectors as each end of the blue air hose between the tow vehicle and the RV. The connections are not very secure at all. am I doing something wrong but I in no-way believe these will stay connected on the highway. Please advise.

The connectors used on the air hose that connects the air brake system on the motorhome to the Brackemaster on the towed vehicle are the same type of quick connects you'd see on air tools or on propane quick-connects. If connected correctly by sliding the knurled collar away from the connection, pushing the male connector into the female receptacle and letting go of the collar will lock the connection in place. The connection will not come loose unless the collar is slid away from the connection again and the connection is pulled apart. The female end of the connection uses ball bearings in the connection which might need to be lubricated. Roadmaster recommends giving the female end a quick shot of a slilcone spray lubricant to make connecting everything up easier.
