Will 4.80-12 Tires Fit On Wheels With 4.0-12 Tires
Question:
I just bought a used log splitter it has 4.0-12 tires with 5 lug rims. The tires are junk and all I can find are 4.80-12 replacement tires. Will those fit on these rims? I just need to be able to tow around my yard

4.0-12 tires are a pretty odd size, so as you already mentioned a 4.80-12 like the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 4.80-12 - Load Range C # AM10062 is going to be your best bet.
The # AM10062 will fit just fine on your rims but it is going to be .8" wider that your current tires, so the main concern will be making sure there is enough space between the tire and the frame to avoid any contact. With that said the 4.80-12 is the narrowest 12" tire we offer.
Another option is the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 4.80-12 - Load Range B # AM10060 which will be more cost effective due to the lower load rating. The # AM10060 has a load rating of 785lbs at 60 PSI which should be enough for your log splitter.
I included a video review for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
