Will Installation of the Tekonsha 118289 Require Removal of the Hitch on a 2014 Acura MDX
Question:
Hi, I’m interested in getting this trailer wiring harness for my 2014 Acura MDX https://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit-Vehicle-Wiring/Acura/MDX/2014/118289.html?VehicleID=201487215 When I bought the car, the dealer installed the trailer hitch but did not install the wiring hardness, do you know if I will need to remove the trailer hitch before I can install this wiring harness? Particularly the 7 pin plug. Thanks

No, you will not need to remove the hitch to install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118289. This is going to be a really simple, plug and play process so you've got nothing to worry about. You may want to consider adding a mounting bracket to this so you don't have the plug just hanging down. For that, I recommend using the Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware - Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Vehicle End # PK12711U, which comes with self tapping screws for installation.
I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to check out, as well as our selection of ball mounts and hitch balls if you don't already have those either.
