How To Wire 4-Way Round Connector For Flat Towing A 2006 Honda CR-V

Question:

Hello. I have a roadmaster baseplate on my newly purchased 2006 Honda CRV. I already bought the adapter for my Blue Ox towbar from you and that fit perfectly. My CRV also has your 4 prong round receptacle and I need to buy the correct plug for my existing connector wire. My question is, are the terminals color coded in your RoadMaster 4-Wire Connector - Trailer End Item # RM-910030-2 Please advise. Thank you.

First off thank you for purchasing your flat tow products through us!

The RoadMaster 4-Wire Connector # RM-910030-2 you were looking at is not color coded for wiring on the connector itself, but I would be happy to help make sure you get it wired correctly.

The typical way a 4-way round connector is wired is as shown in the included diagram. If your 4-way round is not wired in the manner, or if the wire colors on your existing cord are not the standard green, yellow, brown, and white, you will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 and make the connections by function instead of wire color.

I included a link to a helpful article on wiring a 4-way connector for you to take a look at.
