Ford Van TCM Won't Supply 12 Volts to Trailer Jack

Question:

Hi eTrailer! My new Ford van comes with their TCM trailer control module that needs to sense a voltage on the 12V+ connector pin before it will begin to supply 12V+ on this lead. My electric tongue jack provides no input and thus the TCM does not turn on power to this pin unlike other OEMs. Do you have a connector or trailer lead that fools the Ford TCM to turn on the 12V+ lead as soon as the trailer is connected? Please advise.

There isn't a way around Ford's wonky 12 volt issues that will allow you to plug in and use your trailer jack, as there isn't a way to fool the TCM, so to speak. The only real solution I can think of - depending on your trailer jack - is to wire it directly to a 12 volt power source with 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1.
