Question:

We do have what you're looking for to be able to install a 7 way plug on your 2011 VW Tiguan, and the base of all wiring starts with the 4 way connector; I recommend using the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236, which will give you a 4 way trailer connector that you'll need to start. Once you've installed that, you'll want to choose between the # ETBC7 for wired brake controllers or the # ETBC7L, which is used for wireless brake controllers or trailers without brakes that still require a 7 way plug. These kits come with all of the parts needed to create a 7 way trailer connector from your existing 4 way.
If you haven't already got a brake controller and require one for this trailer, I recommend using the Curt Echo # C51180, which is a wireless brake controller. This means that you won't need to hard wire anything into the cabin of the vehicle, which would otherwise be required since the Tiguan does not have a plug and play brake controller adapter. The Echo offers proportional braking for your trailer and is controlled by any smart phone running either Android 4.4 (or newer) or iOS 8.0 (or newer). This controller plugs into the 7 way on your vehicle and then accepts the RV plug, so it's easy to install and offers a great solution for a lot of vehicles that aren't otherwise setup to tow a trailer with brakes.
I've linked some review and installation videos of these parts for you to check out.
