Recommended Replacement Tires for Snowmobile Trailer with 20.5 x 8 x 10 Tires

Question:

Hello, I am looking for some 20.5 x 8 x 10 snowmobile trailer tires. In this tire size are my only choices bias ply tires? It appears I would have to change rims for radial tires. This being said, is there any difference in bias ply for a lot of highway travel mostly in the winter? This trailer would not have brakes but is a tandem axle 20foot trailer that will carry roughly 2000lbs gross with a 1500lb aluminum trailer. Thanks

I'll start out by saying that you shouldn't need to replace your wheels if you switch from bias to radial tires, or vice versa; so that shouldn't dictate what you need to do. With that said, I may have a solution for you but we do not have a 20.5x8x10 tire available. However, the Loadstar # AM1HP56 are very close in size at 20.4 x 8.4 x 10 and will provide you with a durable bias ply tire. Bias ply tires are generally built for handling trailer loads a little bit better than radial tires; the only downside is they don't handle heat as well, but that should be mitigated a bit by this being primarily used during the winter. You are also correct that we don't have a radial tire available in this size. With that said, these will do just fine on highways and are rated for speeds up to 87-mph.

I've linked a short review video of these tires for you to check out.
