Recommended Suspension Enhancement Product for 2006 Ram 2500 Carrying Small Slide In Camper
Question:
I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4. I use a small cab over camper a couple times a year. When I am not camping the cab over is removed from the truck. I have a small amount of sag front to rear. I want a little more support. I am looking at the Timbren SES DR2500CA kit. These are a 6000lb kit. Is this the appropriate kit for my application or should I go in the HD kit that is an 8000lb kit? Your website shows the first would be best but the timbren website says HD. I don’t want a rough ride and the camper is only on the truck a few times a year. Would you still recommend the first kit? Any recommendations or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

For a Timbren suspension solution for your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4, I'd recommend going with the lower-rated # TDR2500CA which will provide the proper support for up to 6000 lbs. The heavier-duty # T94VR is more intended for use on severe service vehicles such as tow trucks and ambulances. I'm certain that you wouldn't be pleased with the rough ride you would experience with the higher-rated Timbren product.
As an alternative, I believe you'd be happier using the # SSR-302-54 which provides 2800 lbs of support, which would be about perfect for a smaller slide-in truck bed camper. The SumoSprings won't provide as much support, but the ride quality will be much less harsh, and since you state that you don't want a harsh ride and you don't use the camper very often I'm convinced that this would be the best option for your stated needs..
I've linked to installation videos for both the Timbren # TDR2500CA and the SumoSpring # SSR-302-54.
