To add trailer wiring to your 2010 BMW X6 I recommend using the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236, which has a powered converter and comes with quick splice hardware to allow you to complete the installation.

If you also need a ball mount, hitch ball and hitch pin I recommend using the etrailer 2-3/4" Rise or 4" Drop Ball Mount Kit - 7,500 lbs # EBMK4 since it gives you all of the parts you should need to tow some different trailers. The ball mount can be used as either a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop and comes with 1-7/8" and 2" hitch balls, a hitch pin and clip.
