2003 Toyota Matrix XR Trailer Hitch Receiver Options

Question:

I’m looking for a hitch for my 2003 Toyota Matrix XR all wheel drive. I believe that not all the hitches listed will work with the AWD version of this vehicle. Can you let me know which hitches that you carry will fit my vehicle. Thank you in advance.

You have two options that will work with the 2003 Toyota Matrix XR models. Both are Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch receivers, but there are some visual and capacity differences between the two. The Draw-Tite option # 24812 will be more visible than the other and will have less capacity. The Curt option # C12013 which I recommend is less visible and has more weight capacity.

I recommend the Curt option because it's more hidden and has a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,500 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 250 lbs.

I've included a video of the install of the Draw-Tite as we don't have a video of the Curt option, but no worries they both install practically the same! Go with the Curt and watch the video to help with the install if you have any questions.
