Hitch and Step Through E-Bike Rack For 2020 BMW X1
Question:
I need a high quality folding bike rack and hitch. I have a 2020 BMW X1. I need to carry two ebikes, 50 pounds each which are low step. Can you recommend the appropriate products. Thanks in advance!

For a hitch, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Part # e93KR. This is a Class III hitch that has a 2" receiver opening. It provides a maximum tongue weight rating of 525 pounds, as well as a maximum tow rating of 3500 pounds. When use for towing, please advise the owner's manual for the appropriate tow rating for your vehicle specified from the manufacturer.
Now for a bike rack. I personally like the ease of installation and use, as well as the features of the Inno Tire Hold 2 Bike Platform Rack Part # INH120. It has a max weight capacity of 120 pounds, has longer wheel trays so loading up bikes is easier with minimal handlebar interference, and will accept bikes of various frame styles, construction and size such as the step through bikes you are looking to carry. This rack not only tilts down to allow access to the hatch cargo area, but does fold up nicely against the back of the vehicle when not in use.
Below you will find a review and installation of the Draw-Tite Hitch on a BMW X1, as well as a review and use of the Inno Tire Hold.
