How To Fit An 18000K Demco Auto Slide Hitch In A 2015 Ford F-350 Without A Puck System
Question:
I have a Demco 18k autoslide hitch. It is set up for the ford puck system. I do not currently have the puck system in my truck. Can i change out the side rails and use it with another mounting system? Either above or below bed rails?

If you already have the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Underbed - 18,000 lbs Item # DM8550022 I recommend the Replacement Side Plates for Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - Above Bed Mount Item # DM6003 and add the Demco Hijacker Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Hitches Item # DM8552000-71
To make it easier when connecting your trailer wiring I recommend the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 7' Long Item # C56070. Having the plug in the bed of the truck keeps you from having to drape the wires over the tailgate to make the connection.
