Is There Enough Bumper Clearace for Thule T2 Pro XTR on 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Question:
Hello - I have a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited X and am contemplating purchasing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2. Will this be compatible with the Thule T2 Pro XT bike rack? Specifically, will the bike rack be able to fold up? Thank you!

Yes! The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Class III - 2" Hitch # 75699 is a great hitch! It has a 500 lbs tongue weight capacity which is awesome especially if you're carrying heavy bikes. It has 4-1/4" bumper clearance from the center of the hitchpin hole to the end of the bumper which is short enough that most bike racks can be folded up with this. I attached the install video of this hitch on a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the bottom of the page.
The Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH83JV will fit with your hitch. The distance from the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack when folded up is 7". That should leave enough of space between your bike rack and your car. It doesn't sound like much, but I've seen bike racks with only a finger's width between them. Just make sure to tighten the hand knob properly. Shaking the rack while tightening helps get the best fit. Video below shows it on a 2017 Jeep Cherokee.
