Great Trailer Sway Control with the Tuson Electronic Sway Control and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Question:
My trailer begins to sway at higher speeds, so I'm looking at the Tuson Electronic Sway Control. My 2020 Silverado 1500 has something called Stabilitrak. Are these the same things? Can they work together?

The Tuson Electronic Sway Control, part # 335TSC-1000, is a great addition to your trailer with electric brakes. It works in the same way the Stabilitrak system of your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 does.
The Stabilitrak senses sway in your Silverado and intuitively applies brakes to correct the sway. When hauling a trailer, your Stabilitrak system has the ability to apply the trailer brakes to correct sway once it has begun affecting your vehicle.
Therein lies the key difference of the Tuson Sway Control: it does the same thing but specifically for the trailer itself. Meaning, when the trailer begins to sway, it starts correcting instead of the Stabilitrak which corrects it once that sway affects the vehicle.
With the addition of the Tuson Sway Control, there is even more control and stability for your ride. In fact, Tuson performed tests to determine if these two systems interfered with each other and found the they actually complement each other quite well. The Tuson Sway Control usually prevented the Stabilitrak from needing to be engaged, but in the rare cases it did, the two worked in conjunction to quickly correct.
In other words, these two together will give you all the sway control you could hope for. If you can't use a weight distribution system with friction sway control, then this is perfect for you.
I've linked to a video review of this system for you to look at.
