It sounds like your 2004 Ford F-350 Diesel already has a 4-way connector installed.

Starting with adding the 7-way connector I recommend the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185 which will plug into your already installed 4-way connector. On the rear frame rail of your vehicle you will have a connector with a blue and orange wire. You will cut the orange 12v power wire from the vehicle's connector and connect it to the black wire on the adapter, and then cut the blue trailer brake wire from the vehicle's connector and connect it to the blue wire on the adapter. Lastly you will just need to use a self tapping screw to secure the white ground wire from the adapter to the frame of your truck.

Moving on to the trailer brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it is an extremely reliable top of the line trailer brake controller that has great features like an easy to read LCD Screen, and built in diagnostics that are easy to understand. To install the P3 # 90195 you will need to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers # 3035-P which will plug into the factory connector located behind the dash which is accessable by removing the lower dash panel on the drive side. The adapter will plug into your vehicle's connector and then into the P3 # 90195 to complete the install.

I included videos for all of the products mentioned, and a helpful article on installing a trailer brake controller and 7-way connector on your 2004 Ford F-350 for you to take a look at.
