How to Carry Roof Top on 2015 Jeep Cherokee

Question:

im looking to get roof racks for my jeep cheerokee 2015 and put a roof top tent on top. The problem is that most of the racks has a weight limit of 150lbs and the tent itself is 160lbs and then sleeping in it will put it way over the weight limit. Am I missing something or do I need to find racks with a 600lb limit?

This roof rack has a weight capacity of 165 lbs so it can handle your roof top tent. That weight capacity is while you are driving. Thule does not have a static weight capacity when the vehicle is not in motion. Generally the roof of your vehicle is the lowest weight capacity to consider.

There are no roof racks that have a weight capacity of 600 lbs. Your rooftop tent's ladder acts as additional support for your rooftop setup. This spreads out the weight making it possible to camp in a rooftop tent.
