Do Brophy Camper Hold Downs Black Powder Coat, Part # HSSF, Stress Truck Bed Top Rails?
Question:
Do these stress the top rail?
asked by: Ray F
Expert Reply:
The Brophy Camper Hold Downs, Part # HSSF, install without drilling and use the included padded T-bar hardware to evenly distribute forces downward and inward toward the inside of the truck bed. The top rail itself bears only some of the load from the tie-down points since most stress is distributed to the inside of the bed.
I have attached the installation instructions for this item for your review.
You will want to review this part for compatibility with your specific year/make/model truck as there are a few exceptions to the fit; some import, step-side bed, Dually bed and certain Ford F-150 trucks cannot use these hold-downs.
If you need hardware to secure your camper, we do offer the Brophy Camper Tie Down Hardware Package, part # TDHP. Instructions for this product are also included.
