Where To Connect Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller Brake Signal Wire On 2015 GMC Terrain

Question:

When wiring in a Hopkins Agility brake controller, where is the best place to pick a brake signal on 2015 Terrain? Would it be the same as in your video for 2017 model?

The red brake signal wire on the Universal Wiring Adapter # HM47685 for the Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller # HM47294 will need to be installed to the cold side of your brake switch on your 2015 GMC Terrain.

When we installed a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 on a 2017 Terrain, we found that the correct wire was the white wire in the number 8 pin of the black connector on the BCM using a quick splice included with the harness which you can see at the 12:05 minute mark in the included video.

Since your 2015 Terrain is the same generation as the 2017 Terrain, it should be the same wire to connect to but it never hurts to double check with a circuit tester like # PTW2993. To test the wire you will want to attach the circuit tester, and with the vehicle on you should only have power when the brake pedal is pressed.

If your Terrain does not already have a 7-way connector you will need to add one using # ETBC7 which will include everything needed to complete the install, and you can see it being installed on a 2017 Terrain in the included video.
