Ford Ranger 2020 Red Arc Trailer Brake Installation Requirements
Question:
What harness will I need for the install of this product and is it plug and ply or will I need to splice. I reviewed your video for the 2019 Ranger, however I am not seeing the wiring with the blue tape as depicted.

For your 202 Ford Ranger you will only need the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller part # RED24FR and the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers part # 331-TPH-007 to successfully install a brake controller if it has both a 4 and 7-way plug on the back.
The wires are directly under the main wiring harness where it comes through the firewall. They will be right behind your OBDII port and may or may not have blue tape. This may be what is throwing you off in some cases the tape can be a different color.
If you only have a 4-way plug at the rear you need to add the Trailer Brake Controller Installation Kit part # ETBC7 this will give you the plug and wires you need to send the brake signal to the trailer. If you are going this route the Plug-and-Play Harness part # 331-TPH-007 is not needed.
