Will a Fixed 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Fit in the Same Rails as a Slider 5th Wheel Hitch

Question:

Will the RP30047 hitch fit the rails that I have on my 16k slider hitch? I have upgraded from a 1500 short bed silverado to a 2500 6 1/2 foot bed silverado. I want to order a new hitch because I installed a sidewinder on my camper when I was using the 1500 shortbed and i dont want to use the slider hitch with the new RP 30047 in the 6 1/2 foot 2500 bed. The slider 16k hitch is a reese hitch. I was told that I did not need to use the slider hitch and the side winder together.

Reese 5th wheel trailer hitch # RP30047 will fit in the same rails as the slider that you had. You are correct, since you have a Sidewinder you will not need a slider. A Sidewinder could be used with a slider as long as the slider stayed locked in the towing position at all times.
