Rail Placement for a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch in a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 with 6-1/2 Foot Bed  

Question:

What distance do I need to measure from the end of the bed to the back of the front rail to install my reese 16k fifth wheel ? My 2011 silverado 2500 truck has the 6 1/2 foot bed.

Expert Reply:

If you are using the custom fit installation kit # RP50066-58 then from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the back rail will be 24-5/8 inches. You will then use the hitch for the placement of the front rail. The centerline of the hitch will be centered over the rear axle. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a video showing a typical installation for you.
