Installation of Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Cargo Tray # RPBS-U on Suzuki Grand Vitara

Question:

I have a Thule standard square crossbar. If I purchase the RPBS-U, do I hv to purchase any extra U bolt to fit the basket? Or it will come with a universal U bolt, i do not have to purchase any? What is the height and weight of the RPBS?

The Rhino-Rack Steel Mesh Roof Mounted Cargo Tray # RPBS-S280 you referenced does come with a universal U bolt that will allow you to fit this product to your Thule crossbar. The cargo tray will fit on a crossbar up to 3-7/8 inches in diameter and the crossbars must be a minimum of 40 inches long and a maximum spread of 45 inches.

The weight of # RPBS-S280 is 26 lbs and height/tube diameter of the item is approximately 2 inches. I called my contact at Rhino Rack to verify these measurements.

To carry cargo with this item, you will need tie downs. I recommend the Rhino-Rack Tie-down Straps # RTD3. They come in pairs and are 10 feet long by 15/16 inches wide with a safe working road limit of 165 lbs and a breaking strength of 496 lbs. In the name of safety, you should not carry a load that exceeds the working road limit of the straps or your roof.

Finally, be sure to check your vehicles owners guide to find the weight limit of your vehicles roof before loading any cargo on the roof.
