Recommended Thule Square Bar Roof Rack For 2016 Ford F-150 With Thule Tracker II On Leer Camper

Question:

I have a 2016 F-150 SuperCrew with a 6.5 bed and a panoramic moonroof. I have a cab high Leer/Century truck topper. I have the original Thule Tracker II roof rack with square tubes installed on the cab high Leer truck topper with the appropriate original fit kit taken from my previous truck. It was awkward to get the track nuts into the newer track but they went in. This is a brand new topper, 2020 model, so it has the newer tracks installed by Leer and not the ones that used to be sold that could be installed DIY. I load an extension ladder on the rack and am concerned that I may hit the moonroof and that there is not enough support for the ladder so would like to add another crossbar but over the cab. Is there a base/fit kit available to use with 753-2152 and are there then square crossbars available? Will this bar then be level with the two existing on the topper. Can you recommend a solution for me? Hopefully, that made sense. Thanks so much.

I have another option but there are no fit kits to attach the discontinued Replacement Railing Foot 753-2152 to the roof of your 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCrew.

Since you mentioned wanting a square bar I recommend the Thule Square Bar Roof Rack System which uses 60" Thule SquareBar Evo Crossbars # TH712500, Evo Clamp Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH710501, and Fit Kit # TH145177. This will give you two crossbars to support any loads and will be level with your Thule Tracker II as long as your Leer topper is the same height as the cab of your truck. I also recommend adding the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450400 to secure the roof rack to your vehicle.

The Thule Roof Rack will work with your panoramic sunroof, but they do not recommend opening it with the roof rack installed to prevent damage to your sunroof or roof rack. Most customers do not open the roof rack anyways since the crossbars will create wind noise that can be quite loud with the sunroof open.
