What Happens If Reese Friction Sway Control Is Not Level
Question:
What happens when the sway bar is not level

It is important to make sure that the Reese Friction Sway Control # 83660 is level when installed. If the sway control is unlevel by a significant amount the slide bar will bind in the main body when turning.
The cause for the Reese # 83660 to be unlevel is that the ball mount used is not the correct drop causing the tongue of the trailer to point up or down.
I included and article that goes over how to measure for the correct drop ball mount, and a link to all of our ball mounts once you know the drop you need for your setup.
If you are not using a weight distribution system, you will also need the Reese Sway-Control Bracket # RP26003 if you have a 2" ball mount or # RP26005 if you have a 1 1/4" ball mount.
I included a video of the Reese # 83660 being installed for you to take a look at.
