Question:

New bike rack for my new 2021 ford explorer, do you offer a rack that you tilt so we can open the rear hatch??

There are a couple of bike racks that will fit the 2 inch hitch on a 2021 Ford Explorer that we know will allow you to tilt the rack down with the bikes on and still allow you to open the rear hatch, with the difference in the racks really being that one is easier to use than the other, but both are really good options. The first rack I recommend checking out is the Swagman Current Bike Rack # S64678.

This rack is for more heavy-duty options, with a 60 lb per-bike capacity and the ability to fit tires up to 5 inches wide. It is a frame-mounted bike rack so it uses padded hooks to grasp your bikes by the frame and secure them in place, and comes with locks to secure the rack to your hitch and bikes to the rack. It does require the use of a wrench to install the hitch bolt, and tilting it down requires the use of a lever you need to pull by hand. The Swagman Current Bike Rack # S64678 is an excellent option if you need something for heavier bikes and don't mind the bit of extra work to install and tilt the rack.

The best option though is the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack # SH22G.

The reason is the Sherpa 2.0 is a wheel-mounted rack so it won't make contact with your bike's frame, and will install in your Explorer's hitch with the swift and simple turn of its anti-rattle knob, with no tools necessary. The rack tilts down with the use of just a handy foot lever on the front, so you don't have to do any work when you want to access your Explorer's cargo area.

Additionally, the Sherpa 2.0 comes with a hitch and cable lock to secure the rack and your bikes. It has a 40 lb per bike weight capacity and will work with tires up to 3 inches wide, or from 3 inches to 4.8 inches wide with Adapter # APBK.

I have added links below to video reviews of both racks on a Ford Explorer for you to check out as well.
