Trouble Threading Trailer Hitch Bolts On 2016 Nissan Murano
Question:
I cannot get 3 of 5 bolts to catch are you sure they are supposed to be metric. I cleaned with wire brush and lubricated no luck

The trailer hitch for a 2016 Nissan Murano like the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98907 installs using five M12-1.25" bolts. That said, the weld nuts that these bolts will thread into are located on the bottom of the frame and subjected to the elements. Therefore, even when cleaned with a wire brush they can still be too gummed up to thread. It is critical that you thread the bolts in correctly so I recommend using a thread tap and cleaning the threads further before proceeding. These can be obtained locally form auto parts stores.
