Is a Powered Tail Light Converter Needed for Trailer Wiring Harness On a 2014 Lincoln MKT
Question:
2014 Lincoln MKT without factory tow package. I want to install a wiring kit for a very small 3.5 trailer. Do I need a powered converter? Which product do you recommend?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the trailer wiring harness options for a 2014 Lincoln MKT will have a powered converter as the vehicle's taillights aren't sufficient enough to power both sets of tail lights, the trailer and vehicle. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56095 is a great splice free option that I recommend.
