What Is the Power Rating of Each Leg of the RV Power Control Center

Question:

Im interested in one of your Inteli-Power 60 amp distribution boxes. Are these 120v 50amp each leg? Do they distribute like a house panel out of phase? Would there be an issue running a 240v appliance off of 1 and hooking up a 30 amp pigtail, would that bring the power in phase and cause a problem? Can you use gel cell batteries with these?

I reached out to my contact at Prgressive Dynamics to get some answers to your questions about the RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger, 60 Amp # PD4560K18LS8.

Each leg is 120 VAC 50 Amps, 60 Amps is the DC rating of the converter.

Each leg is split to either half of the double 50 Amp breaker. This is not the normal house panel configuration.

A 240VAC appliance can not be run from this configuration.

A jumper would need to be installed on H4 on the converter board for true gel charging. You will have to confirm with the battery manufacturer if you require a normal/absorption charge voltage of 13.2 VDC. Note that some of the new GEL batteries will charge at 13.6 VDC during normal charge. Also, AGM type batteries are not gel and do not require lowering the charge voltage.
