Question:

I have a 2014 dodge 3500 dually with a Reese 16K 5th wheel and just updated my 5th wheel camper and has a max loaded weight of 16853 lbs do I have to upgrade my hitch and if so what is the cheapest but safe way. Thanks for your help.

In regards to choosing the correct weight fifth wheel hitch, you'll need to be rated for at least a few thousand lbs above the fully loaded weight of the trailer. For example, if the trailer weighs around 16,000 lbs then you'll need a fifth wheel hitch rated for at least 20,000 lbs. For this, the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # C16140 is one of the best bang for your buck options. It has a dual interlocking jaw design for a tight grip and an easily removable hitch head. It can be used to replace a Reese hitch as it mounts in industry standard rails.
