Recommended 4 Bike Rack for Use on Thor Axis Motorhome and 2014 GMC Sierra

Question:

We have a 2014 GMC Sierra Pickup truck and a 2019 Thor Axis motorhome and would like to purchase a 4 bike rack to carry our street bikes. If possible would purchase one bike rack to use on either of the two vehicles. Any recommendation would be welcome. Thank you so much!

I recommend using the Curt 4 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18087 which can be used on the back of your 2019 Thor Axis and on your 2014 GMC Sierra. This is a platform bike rack that will make it easy to load up and take off your bikes and has a capacity of 45-lbs per bike. This rack does come with locks for the bikes and you can add an anti-rattle hitch lock with the # SR0901 to replace the standard anti-rattle hitch pin and give you a bit more added security.

If you've got women's or children's sized bikes that you'll be carrying that have aggressive step through frames you will need to use a bike frame adapter bar like the # 64005 to secure the bikes, since the hooks will likely not go low enough to secure them; this is a fairly common issue and would be present using any rack that holds the bikes by the frames.
