How to Measure to Determine the Correct Grease Seal for a Trailer

Does this seal replace the National 5009 seal?

The Grease Seal # 1105-100-035 that you referenced is not a confirmed replacement seal for the National # 5009. The little bit of information I was able to find on the National # 5009 seal was that it was used on very old trailers.

In order to find one that will work you will need to take a few measurements. You will need the outside diameter of the seal plus the outside diameter of the surface that the seal will ride on. Check out the picture I attached that shows what you will need to measure. You will want to use a dial caliper to get exact measurements.
