Identifying Trailer Wiring Colors that Run to 7-Way of 2012 Nissan Frontier
Question:
Dear Sirs: My 2012 Nissan Frontier King Cab SV 4.0L 7 pin trailer harness has a black wire. No diagrams I see for connecting show a black wire to wire the 7 pin trailer hookup. What does the black wire hook to? Pin number on connector.

Easiest solution to determine for sure what the circuit is would be to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the voltage of the wire while applying the different taillight functions of the vehicle like stoplights and blinkers. I suspect it's a 12 volt accessory circuit since black is the standard color for this circuit so if the wire has voltage all the time it would run to the 1:00 position.
