Can Trailer With 10,000 lb Axles Switch from 16-1/2 to 17-1/2 Inch Wheels and Tires

Question:

I recent bought a 1988 20k equipment trailer. It has 10k dexter axles. Hydraulic/air actuated brakes and 16.5 dual wheels and tires. I was wondering if when the times comes if I could switch to 17.5 single wheels and tires on those axles. Thanks.

Yes, you can switch from 16-1/2 inch to 17-1/2 inch wheels and tires on your equipment trailer with 10,000 lb axles. You just need to make sure the wheels have the same bolt pattern and work with the wheel bolts size of your hub and you're good to go.

For example, the Provider 215/75R17.5 Radial Tire with 17-1/2" Silver Mod Wheel # TA95ZR has a 4,805 lb capacity, an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern and needs a hub with 5/8" wheel bolts.

I have added a link below to our entire selection of 17-1/2" wheels and tires for you to take a look at.
