The first step I would take is to reset the brake controller. To do this, you simply unplug the connector at the back of the brake controller for about 20 seconds and the reconnect the connector to the brake controller.
I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he told me that this can happen when the vehicle batteries are replaced, especially if the brake controller is left connected in the vehicle while the battery is being replaced.
If you reset the brake controller and continue to experience issues with the controller, let me know and we can do further troubleshooting.
