Furrion Observation System Power Adapter for Side Cameras with 2006 Dodge Ram
Question:
I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel connected to a 2021 Grand Design Imagine 2670. The trailer was prewired to accept the Furrion backup camera and after installing one it works just fine. I also purchased the side observation camera/lights that mount in the running light locations. When I connect the side camera to the running light power the units running light comes on but the blue light on the Furrion camera does not come on nor will it pair with my monitor. It is my understanding that the too low current with running lights problem is a more recent vehicle model problem. I know this is fixed with the newer vehicles using the adapter. Are you aware of a similar issue/fix for my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500?

Expert Reply:
Your generation of Dodge Ram truck used a unique setup for the trailer wiring due to the TPIM being what controls the wiring. Based on that and the issues we've seen with the TPIM of trucks like yours the part # FR87PR would be what you'd need.
Another more permanent solution is to splice in the PWM Filter # VGR64VR behind the camera to provide a steady current for proper operation of the camera.
