Recommended Weight Distribution and Sway Control for 2017 Nissan Pathfinder with Travel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder with tow package and a 6000lb Tow Capacity and 600 tongue weight. The Travel Trailer I have ordered has a UVW 3,054 and Hitch weight 417 and CCC 1,263. Id like to know what WDH/Sway Control will work best with this setup.

For your travel trailer, I recommend a weight distribution system rated to match your vehicle, like the Reese Stedi-Flex Weight Distribution System with Sway Control # RP66558. This system is rated for up to 6,000 lbs towing and 600 lbs tongue weight. With this rating, the system will work well with your trailer empty and a tongue weight of 417lbs as well as when it is loaded and the tongue weight is 100lbs or so heavier.

This system uses friction sway control to keep your camper towing straight down the road behind you. It also has trunnion style bars that will not affect your ground clearance like more traditional style round bars can. It also has a no-drill installation which helps make setup easy. This system does not come with a hitch ball, so you will need a ball with a 1 inch diameter shank. If your trailer coupler needs a 2 inch ball you can use part # 63845 and if it needs a 2-5/16 inch ball you can use part # 63847.
