Where Does Trailer Wiring Harness 119250KIT Install on a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan

Question:

Where do you gain access to area where the connections are made? I would guess it is somewhere in the rear.A more accurate location would help.

In order to install trailer wiring harness # 119250KIT on a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan you will need to gain access to the wiring behind each of the tail lights. You will most likely need to remove the tail light assemblies be removing the fasteners that hold them on. This will give you access to the wiring that plugs into the tail lights so that you can test them to determine the functions of the wires needed for installation. I have included a link to the instructions for reference.

Since the # 119250KIT harness, and the other harnesses for the Tiguan, fit multiple vehicles, Tekonsha does not provide vehicle specific instructions for every make and model it fits. But the process is still the same no matter the vehicle: access the wires behind the tail lights, test them, and attach the wiring harness wires according to the instructions.
