Question:

CURT 56208 Vehicle-Side Custom 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness for Jeep Cherokee - worked fine, but now running lights dont work. Everything else does. Put tester on jeep plug. All 3 light up, but brown wire is constant on, even when jeep is off. Suggestions? Jeep is 17 limited.

It sounds like you may have a short somewhere on your running light circuit which could be an internal short in the converter box of your Curt # C56208 or a wire on your trailer that is has a bare spot and is touching a ground.

Since you mentioned that the harness was working before, I would test your converter box. To do this you will need a circuit tester like # PTW2993 and check if there is power coming into the brown wire of your converter box with your vehicle's lights on, and check if there is power coming out of the brown wire with your vehicle's lights on.

If you have power going into your converter box via the brown wire but not going out, you will need to replace your harness.

If you have power going into your converter box and going out to your 4-way connector with your vehicle's lights on you will need to check the trailer running light wiring for any damage or bare wire that could be touching the frame causing a short.

I included an article that goes over troubleshooting a 4-way connector for you to take a look at.
